SHORT INCA TRAIL 2 DAYS

Day 1: Cusco – Km 104 – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu

We take the early morning Expedition train from Cusco through the picturesque Sacred Valley to Km 104, where we enter the trail. Our hike continues gently upwards for approximately 4 hours until we reach the beautiful Inca complex of Winay Wayna, where we stop to eat a nutritious and plentiful bagged lunch. Sub-tropical flora and fauna surrounds us as we continue 2 hours to the Sun Gate, from where we will see Machu Picchu. We will walk down past the majestic ruins, and then take the bus to Aguas Calientes to spend a relaxing night in a comfortable hotel Waman*. 

* These exact accommodations are not guaranteed. In some instances alternative accommodations of similar quality and location may be used.

Distance: 12 Kilometers / 7.5 Miles

Day 2: Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco 

After breakfast and an early start, we take a 30 minute bus ride up to the Machu Picchu ruins, where we will tour the amazing architecture and mysterious temples left by the Incas. A professional, English-speaking guide will help us understand the sophisticated ideas and technology of this highly-advanced culture.  Once the official tour is completed, we will have plenty of time to explore the Sanctuary on our own before returning to Cusco by train in the afternoon.

Emergency Equipment

• Radio communication: Guides are equipped with radios used by workers in the Machu Picchu National Park. We have constant communication with our staff and rangers in case of emergencies.

Please remember that the 2 Day Inca Trail does not include a porter to carry your things. You are responsible for carrying your own belongings so please pack as light as possible. If you would like to add a extra porter to this trek it is +$65 per extra porter.

Inca Trail & Alternative & Adventure Trek to MachuPicchu Packing Check LIST

During the Alternatuve Trek or Inca Trail to Machu Picchu your main luggage will be stored in Cuzco at your hotel or free storage in our office and you will receive a small duffle bag at your trek briefing (which will be help briefing day  before you start the trek) to pack clothes and sleeping bag for 3-4 days.
