BRIEFING: The day before the trek, you will meet with your guide and meet all the members of your expedition group. Your guide will explain to you about the trek, route, and all the necessary recommendations will be provided to you according to the trekking season you choose. This briefing will take approximately 40 minutes, where you will receive your duffel bags that will be carried by the porters along the trail.

ITINERARY
DAY 1.- CUSCO - Anantapata -Lake Camsite - Sunset Rainbow Mountain .
we leave Cusco early morning, adjust to its altitude by exploring through the Vilcanota Valley and small villages, colonial church, and its small inca site, a short drive from here takes us to the beginning of the trek, beginning with a short uphill climb followed by a gradual trail along the Quesiuno Valley until we get to our lunch spot located at Anantapata 4400m/14,435ft. Here we have amazing views of green hills and snow-capped peaks. After lunch and a little rest, we start on our steep uphill climb for 1.5 hours until we reach the Warmisaya (aka Pitumarca) Pass 5050m/16,568ft. After enjoying the views at the top we descend for 20 minutes to Yanacocha lake (4600m/15,092ft) where we set up camp for the night. Optional sunset hike: after dropping our bags, we take our 1 hour uphill sunset hike to the Rainbow Mountain Pass (5050m/16,568ft) and watch as the sun sets over the stunning Rainbow Valley. Once we have finished enjoying the view, we hike 45 minutes back down to camp to have happy hour (tea and snacks) followed by a hearty dinner.

DAY 2.- Sunrise Rainbow Mountain - Red valley/CUSCO.
Today is what you've been waiting for, your chance to see the beautiful Rainbow Mountain! We'll wake you up bright and early with coca tea delivered to your tent, and serve you a hearty breakfast to fuel you up for your final climb to Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain). Upon arrival you can take all the time you want soaking in the amazing vistas of the surrounding lands and explore the mountain itself. Take some time to really enjoy the beauty around you- it truly is a magical place. The best part is, we arrive earlier than other companies so you get the mountain all to yourself!
From here, you will have the option to visit the Red Mountain Valley and explore another out-worldly landscape before hiking down the mountain to our departure point. Here, we will celebrate a successful journey, and enjoy lunch before departing back to Cusco (3 hours), arriving around 4 or 5pm with drop you off at your hotel
