Inca Trail Adventures - Our best adventures ,
I can't tell you enough about how great our experience was with EXPLORE Adventures. We had an amazing experience with them. Our guide Ruben was outstanding, full of knowledge, friendly and just fantastic!!! He taught us so many things about the customs and culture of the Inca, and he did it as someone so proud and passionate about his history. The food was unreal! Simply better than any restaurant that we ate at while in Peru. We even rebooked other tours with Explore Adventures and Ruben while we were in Cusco. They were that good. We plan to go back next year for Salkantay! We will be back!

Inca Trail 4days Machu Picchu
Best Inca Trail Experience ever,,, Explore Adventures does an excellent job running tours to Machu Picchu. Our tour was the two day one night Inca Trail tour. Our guide Percy did an exceptional job. He picked us up at our hotel in olyantambo early in the am hooked us up with the train and made the entire portion of the adventure getting to milepost 104 easy. His passion for the Incas for the Qechua people his in depth knowledge of local botany really made it a great hike for us.
My best Inca Trail experience actually started at the briefing at our hotel about 2 nights before the actual trek. The briefing was very helpful in letting us know what supplies we need. and it gave us an overview of our days on the trail. Our awesome trek guide, Ruben, and the 12 porters were just absolutely amazing to be with! They kept our group small to 7 people in the group. I was the solo traveler and loved the small group/family experience. Everyone in the group became a family and team and watched out for each other. There was an individual in our group that was having a hard time keeping up with the rest of us on the trek, but Ruben stayed behind and walked with her to encourage her to finish each day while also not holding the rest of the group back. He also made it a point every day to ask how each of us were doing and feeling. The food was delicious and was gourmet food for camping- unheard of! The chefs outdid themselves each day and night, and I helped myself to 2 servings. I absolutely loved my experience on the trail. I had such a great experience that I will be doing this again within the next 2 years and would totally request Ruben as my guide! He was very knowledgeable of his history and culture. And the views along the trek were just unbelievably breath-taking! As a novice trekker, I would highly advise paying extra to have a porter carry your things. Another thing that I liked about the company is that they are a locally owned company; unlike other companies on the trails that we had encountered that are owned by international groups (like Canada).

Overall we were very happy with the service and enjoyed the holiday. We thought the national guide, Ruben , was very good in his role and was also a very nice and interesting person. He was also very helpful in facilitating the retrieval of a camera left on a coach in what we thought would be an impossible task

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu...
My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Peru and booked the Inca Trail hike with Explore Adventures. The hike was the highlight of our honeymoon and trip.
We are moderately active and I trained hiking locally and strength training. We knew the trail would be challenging and it was even harder than we thought. Our guide, Samuel, was amazing in many ways but was exceptionally patient and encouraging! Even though we struggled it was well worth it to experience the trail.
We had 5 total hikers with us and 11 staff including our guide Ruben, the chef, and porters. I could not be more pleased with the professionalism of the staff. Samuel was funny, encouraging, informative, and by the end we considered him our friend. Chef prepared the most amazing food. I was blown away by the quality and quantity of the food, meeting all of our vegan/vegetarian dietary needs. The porters were supermen and we were so impressed with the abilities, good humor, and rapport with each other. It was obvious this group of men liked each other.All the staff had top notch gear and we were pleased to know that they enjoyed working for Explore Adventures and found it to be one of the most desirable tour operators as employees. ONE LAST TIP - RENT POLES! THEY were so incredibly helpful in the trail and I don't know if we would have made it without them.I wholeheartedly recommend Explore Adventures for all your trekking in Peru!
Salkantay Trek-incredible Hike-Wonderful Company
I just returned from the 5 day Salkantay trek and was very pleased with the entire experience from the decision making process during the pre trek briefing to the drop off at the end of the trek. Our guide Ruben was very attentive and responsive to the preferences of our small (2 person) group. EXPLORE ADVENTURES Peru delivered from start to finish. The equipment was in good condition the best one, everything was as promised, except the chef...Herbert's cooking exceeded expectations chocolate cate in the mountains was fabulous . Great food at every meal! I highly recommend this trekking outfit and would book again if I ever return. Ruben for guiding the group decision process to move early and strategically to beat/avoid the crowds heading to Machu Picchu. This trek was a great experience from start to finish..Great trip! with Explore Adventures..
Lares Trek to Machupicchu
We did the Lares Trek as the Inca Trail was completely booked many months in advance. The Lares Trek was great and felt almost tourist free - which added to the authenticity. We met local people and camped in a local village. Explore Adventures and particularly our guide Ruben were great. The trek is a great alternative to the Inca Trail, so don't be too disappointed if you miss out, just join with Explore Adventures for an alternative trek.The food is a highlight and remember to prepare for all seasons - we had warm Sun, rain, hail, snow, cold and warm. the best team thank you much...Explore Adventures.

We completed the Salcantay Trek in July with Explore Adventures and had a trip of a life time.. The cook and horsemen were lovely and genuine people. Would have loved to have taken the cook back to Canada with us....amazing cook :)The scenery takes your breath away and the local people are such warm genuine people, endurance and strength that you don't see much any more.Ruben was our personal tour guide for Machu Picchu also, he has a wealth of knowledge for the area and loves to share his culture with you.Kate and I would like to thank you Ruben for ensuring that our holiday was 'a trip of lifetime'.I'm glad we ditched Intrepid Travel and Gadventures to go with Explore Adventures, the money stays in Peru and supports locals people .We miss your sense of humour to Ruben, we miss you.We will be highly recommending your business to all of our friends in Canada. We did the Inca Trail 4 days/3 nights, and I would honestly recommend this trek It was mentally and physically challenging, but I felt safe, taken care of, and extremely empowered at what I accomplished.
