20026 Inca Trail tours

2026 Inca Trail - Availability

Embark on an extraordinary adventure along the iconic Inca Trail leading to Machu Picchu in 2026! For the upcoming season, permits

will become available starting in October 2025—making it crucial to reserve your place well in advance to join this celebrated hike. Each day, a total of 500 passes are distributed, but only roughly 200 are allocated to hikers themselves; the remainder are designated for guides, porters, and support crews. The busiest periods, particularly from April to June, see permits disappear rapidly—sometimes within just a few hours—because of overwhelming worldwide interest. The trail is accessible throughout the year, except during February when it shuts down for annual upkeep. Under updated rules, those completing the trail will be granted entry solely to Machu Picchu’s Circuit 1, where they’ll enjoy sweeping vistas without direct access to the main ruins. Seize this opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring scenery of the Andes, discover ancient Inca relics, and take part in one of the planet’s most sought-after trekking experiences—plan ahead and get ready for an adventure you’ll never forget!

Inca Trail hike 2026

Below are some tips on how to maximize your chances of obtaining your Inca Trail permit for your preferred dates:

  1. Provide all required details via your BOOKING FORM. We must have 100 % accurate passport information for all travellers in your party. If you are in the process of renewing your passport, send us your old passport information and we can later update it with your new passport number.
  2. Provide us with your first (preferred), second (alternative) and third (alternative) date choices on which to start your Inca Trail hike.
  3. Be flexible regarding trek starting dates and wait to make all other travel plans and arrangements for after your Inca Trail trek is 100% confirmed.
The most important aspect of this process is obtaining your Inca Trail permits. Additional arrangements pertaining to additional tours, extra nights, upgrade services, equipment rental or dietary restrictions may all be confirmed once we have your Inca Trail permit in our hands!

Please note that once we secure an Inca Trail permit under your name and details, it is 100% non-refundable and non-transferable. The Ministry of Culture (regulating body of the Inca Trail) does not allow for any name, passport number or date changes.
